Original Naked Palette Look #5: Top Heavy Eyes

firstHello!  Long time no type. Welcome to another look in my Obligatory Naked Palette Tutorial Series!

Here is the LAST look from the FIRST Naked Palette.  I went for a dark, thick, and slightly smokey winged liner on the lids and kept the lower lash line fairly understated to emphasize the “top heavy” eye look.  Was bored with my yuge nude/peach lip picks so went with a brighter pink, but don’t think I didn’t pat and blot most of it off…

I used:

top heavyNo shockers here guys.

I took inspiration from Karima’s similar look using the Naked 3 palette, hers being a bit more top heavy and smoked out, but no less gorgeous.

After evening out my lids with Mac’s painterly paintpot, I threw Naked all over the crease and lid with a fluffy crease brush.

With a pointier and smaller crease brush, I deepened the outer crease using Buck and brought it slightly to the lid to form a v/u shape.

With a black kohl eyeliner I roughly defined my upper lash line making it thicker toward the outside corner of my eye.  Borrowing Karima’s tip of easy winged liner, I then took an angled brush and moved/dragged that kohl into what became a soft winged line, adding more kohl pencil as necessary.

With a small pencil brush, I used creep to set and smudge the line even further, slightly pulling the brush upwards to diffuse.  Using the same brush, I did the same technique with Darkhorse, Hustle, and Toasted, placing the shadow a bit higher each time to facilitate a nice gradient of black to mauve.  I did this smudging technique along the entire lid line, until I was happy.

You may notice that in some pictures, the line is more pronounced, if so – good work!  In my “get er’ done” fury, I fell short of the intensity I envisioned for my top lid.  Changes were made.fourth

If it were only that easy.  There was some foundation, concealer, smudged mascara, finnicky falsies, brow salvaging, bronzing (yeah huh!!), and a few choice words 😉

Later Tators xoxo
